The Constellation series represented a change in direction from my previously colour focused work. I followed a more conceptual path and explored the idea that the stars should be the brightest lights in the night sky, however they are being drowned out by light pollution from hundreds of street lights which sometimes, from a distance, seem to form man-made constellations on the night landscape.

Taking inspiration from images of these man-made stars, I hand print patterns onto the aluminium, using a transfer print technique. Then, inspired by traditional representations of constellations and star systems, I press-form the aluminium into gentle shapes, which are then combined with precious white metal to create pieces that form constellations on and around the body.
